Trim & Finish Carpentry FAQs
What's the difference between trim and finish carpentry?
Trim is the broad term for any decorative wood installed over gaps between surfaces (baseboards, casing, crown). Finish carpentry refers to all the final woodworking details in a room — including trim, built-ins, and any custom millwork. We handle all of it.
Can you match existing trim in my home?
In most cases yes. We measure existing profiles and source matching stock or can have custom profiles milled to match. Older homes sometimes have unique trim profiles, but we always find a close match.
Do you paint the trim after installing it?
Yes. We can prime and paint trim as part of the same project. Many customers combine trim installation with interior painting for a completely fresh, unified finish.
My baseboards are damaged — can you replace just a few sections?
Yes. We can replace individual damaged sections and blend them into the existing trim with paint matching. You won't be able to tell where the old meets the new.
How long does trim installation take?
A single room (baseboards + casing) typically takes 1 day. Crown molding in a large room takes 1–2 days. Whole-home trim projects are quoted individually with a clear timeline.
